Hey Everyone!I'm Ashley Merten, a senior majoring in Communication Arts here at UW. I'm from Mt. Calvary, WI, a town so small that it barely makes the map. I'll be graduating in May, and although I'm sad to be leaving Madison, I can't wait to find out what else is in store for me. After graduation, I hope to attain a career in Event Planning. I currently work at the Tornado Steakhouse, a restaurant on the capitol square. I love going to work because I get to talk with customers all night and I get to help other people appreciate food in the same way I do. When I'm not working or going to class, I love to run, watch movies, and read. I also enjoy cooking, trying new and exciting foods, and traveling.
I'm very excited for this class because I want to learn more about the different ways in which the Internet is used. I primarily use the Internet for social and communicative purposes (e-mail, Facebook, Skype, etc.), so I can't wait to hear about the ways that other people use the Internet. I look forward to learning more about the Internet and getting to know you all this semester!
