Practicum #4 - Jarchow

I have come to the realization that creating another video for my vimeo profile is not as easy as I expected. Between editing a project for my production class coupled with other school work, the time it takes to shoot, edit and upload a film that I am truly proud of, is far from a simple task. However, this does not mean that my project is in trouble but rather I will have to take a different approach. For example, vimeo has just introduced an iphone application and more quick and easy ways for uploading video. Perhaps I can take advantage of these new options to generate more views for my uploads, which will in turn make me feel more apart of the community. I also want to expand what I have done with my first video that I uploaded. I have submitted it to a few groups already, but I will be exploring even more options as I come to realize that it's probably going to end up being the most substantial of all my uploads. Hopefully in the coming week I will have more updates to share pertaining to community interaction, but for now I need to focus on uploading more videos.

Practicum #4- Amanda R

I have spent some time looking through the forum on Knittinghelp.com. I thought it was pretty cool that users can post pictures, showing off their completed projects and have other members comment on it. Most of the pictures were of blankets, sweaters, and hats so I’m not sure if I’ll post a picture of my simple scarf when I complete it. As I browsed through more topics, I found that there are some users who always commenting on threads, users like knitpurlgurl. I added knitpurlgurl as buddy, I have no clue what that means though. I browsed her profile and saw that she had her own personal website dedicated to knitting called, Knit Purl Gurl- Live. Love. Knit. I am starting to see that most of the users on this site including knitpurlgurl spend a good portion of their time knitting.

Since none of the threads pertained to me, I decided to start my own. I asked a simple beginner question on tension. So now all I have to do is wait to see if someone comments!
