Blog #3- ChatRoulette

As someone who didn't get his first personal computer/laptop until college, I was not able to really explore many different kinds of websites like these. I had never heard of e-Dosing or ChatRoulette until this assignment was given. Of coarse I had heard to MySpace, but as others have already done, it is easily the butt of jokes about people trying to 'hook up' with others (I guess it also has a bigger and more useful use for music than facebook, yeah?).

I decided to go on ChatRoulette simply because it sounded more dangerous, with the gambling and all. As someone who has also never web chatted with anyone, It was a surprise to see myself on my computer. I was very glad to see that the webcam does in fact work. But I digress, ChatRoulette was very awkward. At first, I just kept clicking away instantly. As I kept going I wanted to see how quickly people would click away from me, and I must say they did not stay on me very long either. With this being the case, I'm not sure what the point is for the webpage. You can see random people by just looking out the window. I guess it's just something I've never gotten into and haven't quite understood. If you're smart, I would say you would never meet up with any of these people, and with that being the case I'm not sure why one would want to interact with these 'strangers.'

But that's just me....still glad I was able to experiment!!
