Practicum 4 Samantha Eisenberg
Since my last post, not much has changed with my PETA experience. I have commented on several more stories posted and haven't gotten many responses to my comments. I've tried commenting on each of the blogs and I hear back from peta2 more than the regular site. I haven't made any friends through PETA. Most people seem content in just being updated with what's going on with the organization. People are still friendly, but if you ask questions it takes a long time to get a response. I feel like this type of blog isn't one people check daily, it's more like a weekly blog. There are stories posted daily and some people are on the site a lot, but I've noticed most people don't leave comments. There are over 2,000,000 supporters of PETA and there are hardly any comments on the stories or topics discussed. PETA does send out emails on a weekly basis, so maybe people are forwarding those to their friends. I know I do that when I get emails asking for help to stop some sort of animal abuse. It's a welcoming place, but I don't know if it's a place to go to make new friends that share the same passion for animals. A different site based on blogging might be better. I did check some blogs outside of PETA and have seen alot more traffic on these sites.
