Blog #6: YouTube and Hulu

Like many, I use both of these sites pretty regularly. I now mostly use YouTube to listen to music and an occasional homemade video. However, for a while I used to watch TV shows that I had missed on YouTube. I remember having to search through results to find one 9-minute clip that was fairly decent. Then I would have to search for part 2 and hope it was not taken down due to copyright violation. The clips I did end up watching were awful quality. The video was not clear and sometimes the sound echoed. Now that Hulu has become more popular and most of my TV shows are posted, I now regularly watch my missed shows there. The picture is so much clearer and for the most part you can watch the show the whole way through, with the exception of the advertisements.

I watched one of my favorite YouTube video a short 14-second clip of a Sneezing Panda. The video wasn’t the clearest but I wasn’t all too concerned about the quality. The best parts of YouTube videos are the comments. Sometimes I find myself going through the pages of worthless entertaining comments.

I also watched an episode of Modern Family on Hulu. All the shows and episodes are clearly organized and easy to find. I did not mind watching the 30-second advertisement if it meant that I would not have to search for part two and three. The comments on the bottom pretty much related to the episode unlike most YouTube videos.
