Plants vs. Zombies
Let me first say how addicting that game is. I wasted 2 hours playing it instead of getting homework done. It is just one of those games that you could play for hours because it is simple enough for you to beat and complete, but each level offers something different, whether its a new weapon (plant), or a different mini game. It reminds of the network game on coffeebreakarcade.com called "Snowcraft." It was just one of those games that really keeps your interest for a long period of time.
I can see how people just come home after school and spend the afternoon going to sites like this and waste away their afternoon on the computer rather than going outside to play. They are addicting and capture enough interest to leave you wanting more after each level.
However, I dont see how it connects with the network gaming section, unless this is a game that keeps track of high scores and compares them to others, I didnt play completely until the end. I completed level 14 and then stopped because I had a lot of other work to do. Overall, this game was awesome and I will definitely be playing it again in the future.
Hey Derrek - fair question about "networked" gaming. Part of this is about networked game distribution, as well - you could buy a disc and install PvZ on your computer, but having it online lets people play (for free) in a web browser. We'll talk more next week!
