Blog Post 4 - Go Google Yourself

Like nearly any cunickrious person on the Web, I have Googled myself before. It'd had been a while since I had last done it, so I was interested to see if anything had changed since then.

I searched for "nick yahnke" (in quotes) and the results were not unusual. The first two links were pages of things I had done for my work. The first link is actually a piece we did in 2007 so it's interesting to see it still at the top of the page. It must of had a lot of people linking to it to still command such a high position on the search page. The third link is a profile I created at some forums back in 2006. Quite surprising to see it so high as I haven't used that site in years.

Finally the fourth link is a link to my twitter account. I recently removed my first and last name from my twitter account. I have it as just N.Y. in the account now, but clearly Google still remembers when I had Nick Yahnke in there.

I was happy to see my Facebook profile didn't appear in the Google search results. I must have been able to navigate the mysterious water's that are Facebook's privacy settings successfully!
