So I've recently become more active on PETA's website. Today I helped send a letter to Donna Karan, a fashion designer, trying to get her to stop using fur on new clothes. After you send it, you are given the option to send the letter to some of your friends. Once I entered in other email addresses for them to use, they showed me other ways to spread the word by using Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Obviously some of the ads they use are a little disturbing, but they blatantly get their message across to stop the purchasing or promoting of fur in fashion.
I've written on the blog several times as well. I noticed it was very easy to get into. It's not intimidating and people who have been taking action with PETA for a while don't act like they are better than beginners. There's actually a blog topic that offers information about PETA to people just becoming involved with the organization which I found to be very helpful.
One way to be involved with PETA and not have to leave your house is by writing to producers of television shows that abuse or ridicule animals. You can also download the "PETA Toolbar" and every time you use it to search for something or purchase something, money will be donated to the organization. It also provides you with links to keep you up to date with how to help animals.
