Blog Post Three: Chat Roulette

I first heard about Chat Roulette last year, and since, haven't really heard much about it. It seems to have been a passing fad, and is now old news. That being said, the whole concept of being able to chat with people all over the world is fascinating. To contact people in Indonesia and Australia used to take lots of time and effort, but is now done with the click of a button - a capability that poses certain risks that need to be addressed.

Most importantly, if one is going to be using this website, they should expect to find people abusing it. Users should be at least 18 years of age, and should have to click a little button saying that they agree to the terms and conditions of the website. By doing this, they both warn users, and prevent complaints. As a sidenote, the first two people that I came across really wanted to talk - a pleasant surprise. The second man was clad in a power rangers costume, then there was a flurry of penises. Without talking, I could determine who was using the site for play vs. who was out to have an honest conversation. This is definitely not a website that I would frequent, but more of a novelty - don't expect to find me on chatroulette any time soon!
