For this blog, I decided to peruse this whole ChatRoulette thing. Aside from seeing Daniel Tosh make fun of it on Tosh.O, I've never once seen it. Upon about 15 seconds on the site, I realized that they need to do a "To Catch a Predator" series on this. If I could have gotten a quarter for each naked man I saw while on it, I'd have two dollars.
I really think the site is a good idea, though. It's sort of like a chat room/Skype collaboration. Instead of having weird text conversations with people like "beachbody55" or "cali_girl903" (two recent names from "To Catch a Predator"), you can actually see who you're talking to, which I think is pretty neat. As discussed in section, a lot of media is converging. And this is just another piece of proof of that. Now, it's highly doubtful that I'll ever go back on the site, but as stated, I think it's a really good idea. It might just be more enjoyable if there was some sort of censorship on the site to avoid...naked...people. It just truly scares me to think of what to expect in years to come. Chris Hanson on Dateline NBC could be awfully busy...
I liked your post about Chatroulette and I agree with everything you said, which is why I chose not to do that one when I was given the options. I think Chatroulette is a great idea but there needs to be some sort of policing on the site to make sure it doesn't turn into a site where dudes show off their junk.
