Practicum Post #5-Ashley Merten

So, I spent quite a bit of time on gleeforum.com last week because there was a new episode that aired on Tuesday, April 15. As I expected, the participation on the forum increased after the episode. People were excited about the newepisode and about spoilers for the next episode (which airs this Tuesday).

I've learned a few things about the website since participation has increased. I had messaged a few fairly active members about random things (actors, actresses, and discussion about the show). I never received responses from them, although they did accept my friend requests. This leads me to believe that the people who join this website are not very interested in conversation with other members of the website; they just want to add their fan fictions and collages and photos that they create, as well as their input on the show. I also noticed that members don't really resp

ond to posts that I make, they just want to make their own posts.

To test if people actually read the posts that other people make, I made a post about a completely random topic (with nothing to do with Glee at all). I made a post about a random video game, and it will be interesting to see if someone responds to it. It will also be interesting to see what their response is (whether it's positive or negative). My expectation is that I won't receive a reply at all, because that has been the pattern of member interaction thus far.
