So far I have not met anyone on PETA's blogs. I have commented on several things, but most of the time people don't respond to your comments, but post their own opinions regarding the issue or topic. I have gotten a response on the peta2 blog, which is for college students. I haven't made any friends through using this site so far. It's very easy to comment on, but difficult to generate responses from others. PETA heavily relies upon the internet to get new stories out to their members. The internet is a main way to interact with the organization. You can email to protest against things, read up on new victories, try to interact with others (really only on peta2), donate, get new members and shop for PETA merchandise. Events that are occuring are exposed online. Social networking and the internet is a major way PETA is so successful. Do you think organizations, such as PETA could be as successful without the internet? How do you think PETA would generate new members or ask for help without using the internet in a cost efficient way?

Yes, I do think organizations can survive without the Internet because these organizations survived before the Internet. The Internet has made these organizations more influential because it makes the information more available for people.
