Blog Post 4 - Googling Myself

When I googled myself this morning, it came up with an aggregate of interesting results. Some of the info I found was stuff that I had long forgotten about - web videos I made with friends back in the day, newspaper articles from high school, and a whole bunch of facebook links that I was tagged in.

In addition, there was info that I knew would be up there - such as my work that i've done with the Majestic Theatre, stuff from classes in school, etc. I was relieved to see that there wasn't anything up there that I was ashamed of. That is one concern that I had with googling myself: that i would come up with stuff that i didn't really want up there. Luckily, I had the foresight to monitor what has been posted over the last few years, and will continue to do so during my time online.

This definitely reinforces the idea that once something is online, its really up there for the world to see forever. We need to be aware of what we put online, and understand that it can come back to haunt us for years to come.
