I have to say this is not the first time I have Googled myself. Before in High School, when my friends and I Googled ourselves, the results were mostly sports articles. Now, the sports articles do not show up and instead links to personal pages and articles not about me show up.
I clicked on the first Facebook page but it was not mine, it was an Amanda Rebello in Australia and the next was located in London. I am kind of happy that none of these Facebook pages are mine for privacy reasons. Out of the twitter links that yielded from my search only two were mine. Both, personal and school twitter, showed up, but because of privacy settings none of my tweets can be seen. There were a couple of Professional pages, sports articles that were not mine, and a search engine MyLife that allows one to search through all the Amanda Rebellos. On the second page of the search, the blog for this class showed up! I looked through the images and found that my twitter pictures resulted. All the other pictures were not mine. I am glad that none of the pictures on Facebook show up because if a future employer Googles me I’d rather them not see those pictures.
I guess the reason why I am not seeing anything about me is because I have not posted anything on the Internet other than on Facebook and Twitter. I have set my Facebook to private including third party websites from accessing my information. All in all I was slightly disappointed that the result did not yield some of the articles about me because feel that I don’t exist other than on my twitter and blog.
